Scrap book design With the help of some valuable tips on the design of a scrap book you will make one for yourself or maybe for your friend, using different materials, ideas and own imagination. T-shirt / bag design The group can choose either a T-shirt or a bag to work with. At the monitored session you will learn the basics of the T-shirt design and making with the help of special paints and techniques. Afterwards a colorful self-made T-shirt will make your day and bring back good memories about the camp. Theatre make-up This session is an amazing way to express your own personality while being either a make-up artist or a model. With the hints from the supervisors and special paints one can make own dream come true and become an animal, a famous hero or a fantasy character. Photography (a shoe box camera) It may sound like an incredible idea, but you will believe it as soon as you try it on your own. With the supervisors from Piispala the group will learn to take photos with a simple shoe box camera. Taking a picture, choosing the objects will be a part of your creativity, the rest remains on the technical side (the dark room and film developing chemicals). Eco-bracelet Under the monitors’ guidance the group will learn some techniques of making a bracelet from diverse recycled materials. It is not only an interesting type of handcrafts, but also a useful way of learning about the ecological use of materials. Design of the soapstone amulets The aim of this supervised session is to get acquainted with some basic techniques of the stone work while designing, cutting and polishing an own amulet. Soapstone is one of the easiest stones to work with; therefore even those who have just finished the primary school will enjoy the session. Working with minerals At this session the group will first have a short guide tour into the world of different stones and minerals. After that under the instructor’s guidance you will learn new skills of polishing and shaping stones to make an amulet of your own. Ornamented self-made amulet will bring the warmth and beauty of a stone. Snow sculpturing This activity is a perfect way to enjoy the Finnish winter day and work in a team to create own snow sculptures. With the advices from the supervisor and being well-equipped with the necessary tools and paints, your group will create a real sculpture out of a heap of snow.
