Youth camps Every year Piispala organizes international youth camps welcoming participants from different parts of Europe. International hockey camp gathers together participants from Finland, France, Switzerland and Russia to spend several amazing weeks in Piispala with the guidance of professional coaches from different countries. In addition to that, every year Piispala becomes a favorite destination for sports teams and clubs to enjoy a diverse programme and have practices on ice or on a football pitch. In the summer of 2010 Piispala warmly welcomed participants of the Nature Camp from Luxembourg, who had an opportunity to enjoy the Finnish summer and get acquainted with the beautiful Finnish nature. In July 2011 we had an international camp for MANGA enthusiasts. More information in the end of this page. International work camps In addition to the youth camps, every year Piispala in cooperation with Allianssi ry organises an international work camp. For this camp participants come from all over the world to do assigned tasks, learn about Finnish culture and make friends from other corners of the globe. Work camp is organized every summer and welcomes participants also from Finland. European Voluntary Service (EVS) The European Voluntary Service provides young people with a unique opportunity to learn about a new culture and develop own skills. Work experiences gained through the EVS can be, for example, within the areas of youth work, an environmental project, or work with groups with special needs – in other words, there are various opportunities which go in line with participants’ interests and learning goals. Piispala has been one of the leading youth organizations to welcome participants of the EVS from different parts of Europe. Currently we have the pleasure to host Adrien from France in Piispala.
